At her house I had to get familiar with her new machine, so I could then show her how to use it. It took a little time, but we figured it out and she got to sew her first straight line. Exciting !! By that time, I had to leave to pick up my DGD:T. I will be going back on friday so we can put it all together.
Apparently her husband loved the quilts I brought to show them when she first got her machine. So eventually she wants to make a quilt. Yeah !!
Above is about half of the completed pinwheels with Moda charm pack of Swell (older line of fabric). I added the solids. This is what got me started on the pinwheel idea to also use for borders.
Well I am having difficulty uploading anymore pictures. Stay tuned I will be back to finish but it is late tonite.
Love and hugs, Joanne
You don't seem to be slowing down too much. How are you feeling these days? I hope you are doing better.
ReplyDeleteI started PT in November and I am feeling stronger. There is a lot more work to do, but it's a start.
Hugs- Tete
Your pinwheels look great. I have a terrible time with HSTs. I'm determined to conquer them though.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you're tutoring your niece to help her learn how to sew. Once she learns she can make so many things for her home and family.
How great is that?! Teaching your niece to quilt! I'm sure she'll love it when she gets the hang to it. Loooooove the pinwheel blocks, which gave me an idea what to make out of a couple of charm packs I have - can't wait! lol!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet. Your niece will remember you from now on! You are so blessed. Love the pinwheels! blessings, Kathleen

ReplyDeleteThose pinwheels are so adorable. What a special time it is for your niece and you to be working on a project together.
